Zonal Police Level Sports Festival-2017 concludes | KNO

Srinagar, December 30 (KNO) : Zonal Police Level Sports Festival-2017 concluded today and valedictory function was held at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar which was attended by players of the winning teams, students of Police Public School Bemina, officers of Civil & Police Administration. Baby Zohra Rashid daughter of martyr ASI Abdul Rashid Shah was the Chief Guest at the occasion while as, Dr S.P. Vaid DGP J&K was the guest of honour. Trophies & medals were awarded to the winning teams & mementoes were presented to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. Zonal Kashmir Police Level Sports Festival, 2017 was inaugurated on 26th December at Gindan Park, Raj Bagh and concluded today at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar where sports competition both in outdoor as well as indoor games among the 03 top teams selected in Range Level Sports Festival was held and the teams were selected on the basis of the merit acquired by the teams during the competition. The festival was organized under Civic Action Programme to promote sports culture among the youth of the valley. Speaking on this occasion, the DGP Dr S.P. Vaid complimented the Kashmir police for inviting baby Zohra as chief guest for the closing ceremony. He desired that the kins of the martyrs should be invited as chief guests and honoured in Police Public Partnership Programmes to honour the sacrifices of police personnel. Highlighting the aim of such sports festivals, the DGP said that such programmes are endeavours by police to provide opportunities to the youth of the state to show their talent and capabilities in sports so that their talent gets recognized and we become a catalyst in nurturing their talent.
